What [God is] interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’
Isaiah 58:6-9 (MSG)
"Loving and leading people into a maturing relationship with Christ, as we walk across the community"
We have integrity, we are authentic, we have courage, this means we love.
At Standale Reformed Church, we believe that the central focus of God’s mission requires us to look upward, inward, and outward… all at the same time. This means that we love God (looking upward), we have self-love and we love each other (looking inward), and we love our neighbor as ourselves (looking outward).
Looking upward and inward creates an environment in which everyone is developing a deepening connection with God, growing and learning in the image of God, and conforming to God's will. This is the loving and leading part of our mission.
Looking outward means being in relationship with the neighbor. We believe that in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities we are called to serve the poor, the marginalized, and those in need; that we are to work for the common good, and seek to restore individuals, social systems, and communities to God’s design. This is the walk across the community part of our mission.
We believe that children are an important part of our church community. We offer age-specific ministries for children pre-K through 12th grade, where they can learn about God in a fun and engaging way.
We are committed to nurturing the faith of the next generation and providing a safe, welcoming environment where children can grow in their relationship with God.
We believe in nurturing the spiritual growth and holistic development of adults in our community. Our adult programs are designed to provide meaningful opportunities for fellowship, learning, and service.
Community Connect Nights (Wednesday evenings during the school year) are dedicated to bringing together members of the congregation and the broader community for fellowship, spiritual growth, and wholesome activities.
We believe that each of us are called to join God in bringing hope and healing to the world around us. We believe that in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities we are called to serve the poor, the marginalized, and those in need; that we are to work for the common good, and seek to restore individuals, social systems, and communities to God’s design.
