Once
again the Senior High Youth Group had a wonderful time on the mission
trip. It took me a few days to catch on to the accent and understand
that things work on Kentucky time down there, which means that things
go a little slower than we are used to. We worked hard doing drywall,
setting up forms, pouring cement, painting, blowing in insulation, and
doing a whole bunch of various other jobs. I am amazed each year how
hard the kids are willing to work and every year the site coordinators
tell me how impressed they are with our group. We were surrounded by
beautiful scenery through out the week. The mountains of Kentucky are
amazing. On Thursday night we got to experience a little more southern
culture as we got to square dance and line dance. It was lot of fun
and a good work out as we danced for more than 2 hours. Friday night
we went to Pikesville and went bowling. It is always a joy to see the
youth grow closer together and grow closer to God on the trip. I love
the time spent with the students making jokes and just creating memories
that will last a lifetime.
