SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERIES:
Beginning September 18 and continuing throughout the school year our congregation will be traveling through the Old Testament.  If we believe that scripture is the living breathing Word of God then our life is transformed through engaging in God’s word.  The Bible contains an Upper Story and a Lower Story.  The Upper Story tells the big, the grand narrative of God’s unfolding throughout history.  The lower Story contains the sometimes delightful; other times appalling particulars of human experience.  Over the course of this school year we seek to discover the heart of God’s Upper Story – his master-plan unfolding in the lives of the Bible’s characters as well as in our own life.   (More......)

Participate in The Story Small Group
:

Jason McBride is leading/facilitating a Small Group opportunity on Facebook.  Reading or Video clips will be posted for the group to read and then you can respond to the questions as they are posted as well for dialogue.  This is certainly different than how most groups function but if you are someone who finds themselves spending a lot of time on facebook this might be a fabulous way to engage in this material with a trusted community of people.  The conversation is closed to the members who commit to be part of this group.  If you have any questions or would like to join please send Pastor Jess jessrc@standalrc.org or Jason McBride <Jason_McBride@hermanmiller.com> a message.

Pastor Jess and Matt will be leading a Monthly Small Group that will meet October 17, November 28, and December 13 for this first semester. We will meet at 6:30 p.m. beginning with eating Pizza together.  Childcare will be available.

Attend Pastor Ralph’s Adult Sunday School Class.

Use the Discussion Questions found in the bulletin each week for continued personal study.

FaithWalking EVENT:

You are invited to participate in a FaithWalking EVENT - April 13-15 (Friday night at 6:30 p.m.– Sunday, 2:00 p.m.) at Camp Geneva.  Faithwalking is the leadership development arm of Mission Houston.  In the Faithwalking 101 retreat it is believed that missional living is the apex of what it means to be fully human – fully alive.  We will explore radical obedience and being to tell God and a small group of trusted people about those places where we are living outside of Jesus’ design for being fully human – on mission.  We will join other Ridder Leadership pastors who will be co-leading the event with Pastor Jess.  We are limited to 20 participants from Standale Church so contact Pastor Jess or a member of the Ridder Leadership team if you are interested in more information or would like to sign up.  This is the second event being offered in our area. Cost is $125 per person.  Faithwalking…building a community of transformational leaders!

DISCOVERY HOUR - ADULTS:

ADULTS: Pastor Ralph will primarily be leading the adult Sunday school class that will be digging deeper into the stories of the Old Testament we have been studying in worship.  They will be looking at how God's story, which is the tale of his great purpose, that fits all of the individual stories together like panels in one unified mural.

Additional Small Group opportunities will also be provided using resources tied to our study of the Old Testament.
