THURSDAY EVENING WORSHIP:
THURSDAY EVENING SERVICE UPDATE:  On August 12, Sports Camp will be wrapping up that night with a hot dog roast.  It is a fun night for families of the kids in Sports Camp to come see pictures of the week, eat some good hot dogs and hear a speaker.  Our speaker that night will be former NFL player Jay Riemersma.  So instead of having our normal service, we will just join the fun at the hot dog roast and hear Jay’s testimony.

NEW WORHSIP SERVICE ON THURSDAY EVENING:
We would love to have you join us for this new experience as we seek to praise God and offer a worship experience that is different. The following provides you with some additional details about this opportunity.

SUMMER ONLINE READING/DISCUSSION GROUP:

SUMMER ONLINE READING/DISCUSSION GROUP

Forgotten God, Week 7: Supernatural Church

Reading Assignment:  Forgotten God, Chapter 7

Reflection and Discussion:

1.   If you could create the perfect church, what would it look like? (How would it be run? How would people act, reach out, worship, pray, and so on?)  Could that perfect church be accomplished through human talent and strength, or would it require the power of the Holy Spirit?  Why?

2.   Consider your involvement with church life.  In what ways do we tend to rely on natural talent as we strive to fulfill our church's mission?

3.   We sometimes get so caught up in everything God wants us to do that we lose sight of who God wants us to be.  The difference is significant.  What would it look like for you to cultivate a relationship with the Spirit, allowing Him to transform you, rather than simply trying harder on your own?

4.    Have you ever walked away from a ministry opportunity because it would take you beyond your natural talents?  In what areas would you need the Spirit to empower you in a situation like that?

5.    What practical steps can you take right now to pursue the Spirit and live in dependence on Him?

This is our final chapter of Forgotten God.  If you haven't had time to read each chapter or check out the discussion questions on the blog, feel free to check the blog at any point in the future and share your thoughts!
